You’ve dreamt up the experience, prepped the event and now it’s time to start promoting it on Yuup. In your head, you know exactly what’s going on, what to expect and how the day will run.
But that’s not always easy to get across on pen and paper (well, keyboard and screen) so we’ve put together a handy checklist to run through each time you’re uploading or updating your experiences on Yuup.
This guide will show you how to optimise your experience listings on the platform to attract more customers and increase bookings. And, by following this guide, you can produce an enhanced listing thereby improving the overall customer experience.
We’ve dotted a few examples throughout this guide to show you what we mean but, if you’d like to see more live examples, just head to our experiences page.
The experience name/title
The name of your experience is your first handshake with the customer. It should be firm, friendly and memorable. We generally find that experience titles that utilise verbs and actions perform better, as well as those that go into detail (keeping in mind the 50 character limit).
Here’s how to craft a title that sticks:
Clarity & appeal: “Gourmet Evening in the Vineyard” beats “Dinner Event”. Be specific, evocative and clear on what your experience is so that people know what to expect and are drawn in.
Use strong keywords: Words like ‘adventure’, ‘escape’, ‘discover’, and ‘create’ can be powerful.
Highlight the experience level: Where necessary, highlight whether your experience is suitable for beginners or whether it's a class that is more focused towards advanced attendees.
Examples: “Mystery Escape Room Challenge”, “Rustic Italian Cooking Masterclass”, “Enchanted Forest Photography Walk”, "Beginners Pottery Wheel Workshop", "Family Bike Ride and Picnic"

Imagery
Your images are the visual voice of your experience. They should echo in the minds of your customers.
Here’s how to curate a gallery that captivates:
Diversity: Show a range of emotions and activities. For example, if it’s a pottery class, include shots of hands shaping clay and the proud display of finished pieces. If it’s a cooking class, take some shots of people chopping and preparing as well as enjoying their finished dishes.
Tell a story: Sequence your images to narrate the experience journey. For visual learners, this really helps to take the customer from A to B, seeing exactly what they’ll do during the experience in chronological order.
People-focused: Your images should always show people doing your experience, so that potential customers can see people enjoying the activity and can envision themselves doing it.
Professional touch: Consider hiring a professional photographer or using a high-quality camera to capture the essence of your experience.
If hiring a pro isn’t within your budget right now, you’ll find plenty of tutorials on YouTube that can guide you through the process of snapping some great shots. Alternatively, you could consider a skill swap with someone in your community: they can come along to the experience for free (or a discounted price) and, in return, they can capture some footage that you can use on socials and on your Yuup experience page.
The description
While we’d always encourage you to let your brand voice run wild and free within the description, we’ve got a few pointers to ensure your description is as conversion-friendly as possible. After all, this is where you paint the picture with words. Here's how to make every sentence count:
Engaging intro: “Join us for a night where flavours collide and each dish tells a tale of its own.”
Clear structure: Use headings like ‘What We’ll Do’, ‘What’s Included’, and ‘Meet Your Host’.
Sensory language: Describe the aromas, the textures and the sounds. “Feel the warm breeze as you sip on sun-brewed iced tea.”

On the day
The day of the experience should be seamless for guests. Provide them with a clear roadmap so they know exactly what to expect. If you’re not sure what sort of questions to answer here, it’s worth looking back through the questions you’ve received about your experiences in the past, as well as anything you’d like to highlight that really makes it extra special. Keep in mind the following tips:
Detailed itinerary: Offer a timeline of events. “4 PM: Meet at the garden entrance. 4:15 PM: Begin our botanical tour.”
What to bring: Be specific. “Bring comfortable shoes for walking and a hat for shade.”
Weather plan: Always have a backup. “In case of rain, we’ll enjoy a cosy indoor picnic with garden views.”
Availability
An updated calendar is a trusted calendar. Here’s how to manage yours effectively:
Regular updates: Block out unavailable dates immediately. Keep a minimum of three months fully updated if possible.
Seasonal dates: Where possible, try to ensure you have dates available around key seasonal events and try to theme these where appropriate. Yuup customers love events that are themed to specific seasonal dates, such as Valentine's Day, Christmas and Easter.
Host information
Your bio is the heart of your host persona. It’s where trust is built and goes a long way to show your customers who you are and why your experiences are so important to you. This is also a great opportunity to go into more detail about your expertise and passion for the industry and highlight any local knowledge.
Personal story: Share why you started hosting. “Jen fell in love with baking at her grandmother’s side.”
Credentials: Mention any relevant qualifications or accolades. “Certified wilderness guide for over 10 years.”
Facilities
The devil is in the details, and facilities are no exception. While this might not be the most interesting part of your Yuup experience page, it’s an important one that’ll ensure a straightforward experience on the day. This is also the section that can lead to more questions if you don’t include the important details on the page. You’ll want to focus on two parts in particular:
Accessibility: Mention wheelchair access or any provisions for guests with disabilities.
Amenities: Highlight comforts like “complimentary refreshments” or “free parking”.
To round off, just remember to review your page as if you’re seeing it for the first time. Is it inviting? Does it make you want to book the experience? Use this checklist to ensure your experience page is not just informative, but also inspiring.
