Take the satisfaction of a good cuppa to the next level with your own special mug to drink from!
This workshop introduces you to the art of hand-building in a fun, friendly, and accessible way! It is suitable for ceramic beginners, or anyone who has briefly experimented with clay and wants to give it another go!
With copious teas and coffees, this class will introduce you to techniques such as slab rolling, carving, embossing and joining. Templates are provided for the class however if you have a specific design in mind you can also create your own unique piece!
You'll be taken through the steps of rolling and compressing, cutting out your forms and constructing your mug and coaster; which you can then enjoy decorating and customising with all the tools available.
Once you finish creating your set you can get stuck into painting your pieces with a range of different coloured slips! They will then be left to dry for a week, after which they will be bisque fired, glazed and fired again. Pieces are usually ready to collect between 4 - 6 weeks after creation. All pieces made are dishwasher safe.
The aim of this workshop is to make clay fun and easily accessible to everyone. You can book the workshop individually, or privately for birthdays, work do's, hen do's and other special occasions!
Provided by us: Aprons, clay, all tools for carving, rolling pins and guides, rolling matt, teas and coffees, letters for embossing templates. ... you just need to bring yourselves!
Any pottery made during the workshop is kept at the studio for a maximum of 3 months upon point of collection email being sent!

My daughter and I had a great time
Jess was an amazing host and teacher. She explained how to make the mugs/coasters clearly but still gave us room to get creative and explore different ideas. Perfect for a date night or bringing your family and friends. The studio is gorgeous too! Thank you Jess :)
Super calm and relaxing enviroment, had lots of fun. Jess was great. Would 100% do it again
This was my Xmas present. Enjoyed it
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The host explained things very well and clearly.
Fantastic session making and decorating a mug
Jess was very knowledgeable and made sure to tell you everything you needed to know to make a mug that will (hopefully!) survive the kiln! The time flew by so I'd recommend having an idea of what design you would like to do beforehand, as construction of the mug itself takes the majority of the time.
My friend and I loved making a mug. It was a great baby shower event for my friend. She loved it.
Jess was super lovely and accomodating. She let us switch our workshop quite last minute when we realised the array of other good workshops she put on. She was incredibly friendly, informative and supportive throughout the session. It's super calming and fun, would recommend for anyone. The space is also awesome.
Loved loved loved! Host was so welcoming, helpful and fun. Really enjoyed, would definitely book something with this host again
The workshop was great fun and Jess was a wonderful and knowledgable host!
I was a little nervous because I went alone, but that so subsided thanks to the wonderful atmosphere and host
The environment was lovely and calm, the amount of guidance was a perfect balance for beginners between creative control and important help from the host. The playlist was lovely too!
Jess was a fantastic host. She was very friendly and informative. We had a lovely time!
Was a super fun experience and Jess was amazing! Will definitely come back again
Loved our mug making session - was great to get hands on and messy. The really great thing is how individualised you can make them in design - whatever ideas we had, our instructor was able to guide us in techniques where needed. We ended up in three very different designs and all had a lot of fun making them. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
Delightful!
Great experience, particularly as a present to do with a friend. Would highly recommend.
It was a wonderful afternoon! I enjoyed the class, it was a lot of fun and I’m very happy with my mug. A big thank you to the fantastic hosts! I highly recommend this class.

Jess is a fantastic host - very organised and extremely patient with beginners!!! Excellent time spent!
Really fun class and great time. Great to do with friends and family to learn something new.

It was such a relaxing experience and I highly recommend. I would love to go back for a different workshop at some point☺️
Booked the tickets experience as a birthday present for my partner and we both had a fantastic time! Jess was very welcoming and is an excellent teacher, the 3 hour session we had absolutely flew by. We would definitely do this again!

I really enjoyed the experience! Jess is a very good host and made us very comfortable. She was encouraging us to be creative, supporting us at each stage. A very good way to finish the weekend
My friend and I absolutely loved this experience. Jess was an amazing host and Kiln was a gorgeous spot for an evening of crafting! As a beginner, Jess made the workshop really easy to follow and fun! She was always there to lend a hand if anyone got stuck and encouraged us to get creative. It was a really relaxed and laidback atmosphere. Being in a smaller group meant we could all ask questions and have a nice chat. It was the perfect wholesome Sunday. I'm chuffed with my mug and coaster!
Jess was a lovely host who was supportive and made the experience really enjoyable, would recommend it!
Unfortunately, I will no longer be accepting last minute cancellations or rescheduling due to covid related issues as Government regulations have been dropped in regards to covid.
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting a bit mucky! Nothing we work with stains, but it can be a bit messy.
I recommend cutting/filing your nails as it can get a little fiddly and difficult with long nails.
