The experience

Situated in the Friary Building in Quakers Friars, Lumosphere is a 30-minute multi-sensory experience in Bristol suitable for all ages. Wander, wonder and immerse yourself in every creation. Interact with the art and explore the mysteries that lie within this other-worldly anomaly.

Explore themed rooms

Step inside a world where experiential art and technology combine. Travel through four distinct, immersive spaces with various themes including: perspective, beginnings, journey, connection, discovery, and exploration.

Your guide to Lumosphere

Your journey through the portal will take you approximately 30 minutes. You’ll be guided by lights and soundscapes and find information on installations, artists, curation, music and more as you enter each space.

Enjoy a mesmerising experience and make a full day or evening out of it by exploring everything the shopping and leisure destination has to offer. Make an evening of it with dinner at one of the many restaurants, and park for just £3 after 5pm

Where to find us

Book your visit to Lumosphere between 26th July to 16th August. Lumosphere is situated in the very heart of Bristol city centre, in Cabot Circus. Housed within the historic Friary Building, it’s located within Quakers Friars, near Harvey Nichols and Cote Brasserie.

Ticketing

You will receive your e-ticket(s) from Yuup via email. This will be sent from: hello@yuup.co (please check your junk or spam folders in case it’s gone there). A copy of your ticket can also be found by logging in to your Yuup customer account and selecting ‘my experiences’.

If you have purchased multiple tickets under one booking, please note the Yuup system will generate separate QR codes for each person to scan on arrival. 

You are advised to either print a copy of your e-ticket(s) at home, or display your ticket on your mobile to be scanned at the entry gate.

It’s a shame you can’t join us. If you can no longer attend you are welcome to pass on your tickets to someone else that is fine as long as they have access to the QR e-tickets to scan on entry.

Alternatively you can contact the Yuup team via hello@yuup.co and they can help reschedule your booking for another available timeslot. 

In the event that you change your mind, unfortunately this experience is not eligible for refunds. For details, see Customer Terms and Conditions displayed at the point of booking. 

We can instead reschedule your booking date for a different timeslot dependant on availability. To arrange this please contact the team via hello@yuup.co at your earliest convenience and we can help move your booking date for you.

Tickets can only be purchased in advance from the Yuup website and cannot be purchased from the venue box office.

Children under the age of 3 years go free with a full paying adult. Please select the 'Under 3's' ticket with your other ticket selections. 

Getting to the venue

The Friary Building is located in Quakers Friars at Cabot Circus, near Harvey Nichols and Cote Brasserie. Quakers Friars is near Broadmead and a 15-20 minute walk from Bristol Harbourside or 20-minute walk from Bristol Temple Mead Train Station. 

Multiple bus stops are located around Cabot Circus Shopping Centre. Those include: 

  • Bond Street (S6 and S8) 
  • Broad Weir (S10 and S12)
  • Cabot Circus (S1, S2 and S4)
  • Cabot Circus South (S13 and S14) 
  • Penn Street (S7, S9 and S11)

The venue is located in Cabot Circus Shopping Centre in the heart of Bristol city centre. The nearest car park is Cabot Circus multi-storey car park, located just off the M32 motorway. The car park is open 24-7.  For those visiting in the evening, park for £3 after 5pm.

There are 75 designated disabled parking bays located on the Ground floor and Level 3.

There are also 74 dedicated family spaces available on the Ground floor and Level 3.

Car Park entrances are on Newfoundland Street and Wade Street and is ideal parking for Cabot Circus, Future Inn Hotel and surrounding areas. Please note we have a height restriction of 2.15m/7.05 ft.

It’s about 0.8 miles or 18-minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station to the venue.

Accessibility

Yes, we offer a complimentary ticket for registered carers attending with an individual they care for. Please select the free Carer ticket with your adult or child ticket selection.

You must be able to supply one of the following documentation dated within the past 12 months or with a valid date covering the experience:

  • Front-page of DLA letter or PIP letter 
  • Front-page of Attendance Allowance letter
  • DID card (National Disabled Identification Card)
  • Evidence of being registered as severely sight-impaired (blind)
  • Recognised Assistance Dog ID card
  • Valid Access Card showing you require a +1 to accompany you
  • Armed Forces Independent Disability Payment
  • War Disablement Pension
  • A specialist medical consultant letter stating your need for additional assistance at events

In addition, copies of the following two pieces of evidence are required in order to reserve an accessible parking space:

  • Valid Blue Badge
  • Valid Photo ID (Driver's licence/Passport or equivalent, to validate the Blue Badge)

Lumosphere is situated in a Grade I listed building. While there are accessible entry points, we understand that the experience may differ for those using these access points.

Please note that there are fast-moving light projections and music throughout this experience. If you suffer from epilepsy or any other condition triggered by light and sound, this event may not be suitable for you.

Our intention for the event is to make it as inclusive as possible, but understand due to the unique nature of the show it may not be suitable for everyone. 

Due to the venue layout, this experience isn't suitable for pushchairs. Please consider this when placing your booking. 

There will be designated area where you can park your pushchair. Please, speak to member of the staff on the day and they will be able to assist. 

The experience includes several flights of stairs, making the standard route unsuitable for those with walking aids or accessibility needs.

We anticipate that the experience will take approximately 30 minutes in length to walk through from start to finish. 

Lumosphere is suitable for all ages

The first slot of the day begins at 10am and the final timeslot can be booked at 6.15pm. 

Slots run every 15 minutes, with four slots available to book per hour.
