Artisan Soap Making Workshop

2 hrs 30 mins
(7)

Discover traditional cold process soap making with Margaret May Soaps, hosted by local maker Karen, in her home. Watch and see how traditional handmade soaps are created, then make your own. You'll get a chance to discuss the history and chemistry behind soap making, and Karen will share what it's like to run a small soap-making business.

In this experience:

  • Learn how to make soap first-hand, using high-quality ingredients and traditional processes
  • Roll your sleeves up and create your own soaps using Karen's own recipe
  • Finish up with your own honey and oatmeal soap ‘loaf’ to take home - which you can slice into 5-6 soaps to enjoy afterwards

As a bonus, Karen will also discuss how to make lip balms, body butter and deodorant and then give you a lip balm to take home.
