Bristol Drawing & Walking tour (all skill levels)

3 hrs
(6)

I believe that the best way to see a place is by drawing it. Bristol is filled with unique corners and interesting details that are easy to go unnoticed. With your trusty sketchbook in hand, take a trip around Bristol's historic old town and learn about its history.

Join local illustrator Cai Burton as he shares sketching tips and tricks to help bring your drawings to life. Let go of perfectionism and practice using observational drawing as a way of looking closely at the city around you. Practice loose, quick gestures on a page or spending longer on a more intricate piece, hone your sketching skills on the go.

Throughout the tour, Cai will take you on a trip through time, explaining Bristol's history - from it's links to the transatlantic slave trade all the way to it's modern reputation for activism. Find ghost signs, urban legends, and look at places you've seen before in a new light.

Over 3 hours, you will create at least 20 sketches of different corners of Bristol and come away with a new way of exploring anywhere you go.

This experience is suitable for anyone regardless of your skill level.

Cai will be on hand to offer 1-2-1 advice for improving your sketching, or allow you to work at your own pace. Throughout the session there will be structured drawing exercises helping you to loosen up and improve your practice.

This session includes your very own sketchbook and drawing supplies, but you're welcome to bring any extra materials along with you.

Minimum fitness level required.

Age restrictions: 14+

Adult £28
Student or 18-21 year old £22
