Silver Button Making Workshop

Create your very own set of silver buttons with The Silver Duck in this 2-hour workshop! You'll melt down silver and then have a selection of button styles to choose from. In this silversmithing workshop, you'll use smelting, piercing, doming, and forming to create your silver button set.

Your host Charlotte will guide you through the design process and talk about the stages of making before you start your project. Choose to make a set of four standard buttons, two toggle buttons, or a statement button of your own design!

What to expect:*

• Use recycled silver to create sweet little buttons
• Experiment in copper first to get warmed up for working in silver
• Learn silversmithing techniques such as smelting, doing, forming and more
• Leave with a unique set of solid silver buttons

This workshop focuses on reusing and recycling, you can make buttons to up-cycle an old garment or add a bit of glamour to your own textile designs! If you have a project that needs a sparkling finish, this workshop will allow you to play and make to your specifications.
