Join this engaging walking tour and discover the intriguing history behind Birmingham's street names. Hear the stories of how the city's streets got their names from local families, temples, and even animals. Learn about the people who worked in Needless Alley; we look for evidence of the area once known as the froggery and walk through what was once the Cherry Orchard. It's a great way to learn about Birmingham's past while getting some exercise and meeting new people. After this tour, you'll never look at a street name the same way again...

What a great way to spend a Sunday morning. This was our first historical walking tour with Kevin Thomas. We really enjoyed the tour and Kevin made it fun and informative. We will definitely be booking onto more of his historical tours of Birmingham. Would definitely reccomend.
The walking tour was well worth it. I learnt a lot about my home city. Kevin conducted the tour very well. I’m looking forward to the next tour I have booked in March again with kevin.

Great tour by Kevin. Walk is the right length of time. Lots of interesting facts I didn’t know about Birmingham. Kevin is a lovely friendly guide. I’d highly recommend one of his walks!
Interesting tour of central Birmingham. Very well conducted
Informative and interesting guided walk. Will certainly book another tour
Really learnt a lot about my home town and all the streets we walk through regularly without knowing their history. Our host was friendly and ready with extra bits of information
The social history was fascinating. I'd took the street names for granted. I'll be conscious of names now. Good size of group.
Very informative and fascinating.
Entertaining and informative as always.
Excellent and interesting tour. Kevin is a very informative and engaging tour guide.
Kevin was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. He used a mic pack which meant he could be easily heard. I learnt so much about Birmingham that I did not know already and I have lived here all my life ! The walk was just long enough and Kevin was able to share photos and artefacts with us. It was a very enjoyable experience on a chilly February morning. Thank you Kevin.
Really enjoyed the walk. Have always lived in Birmingham, mostly close to the city centre but realise how little I know about my home town. Looking forward to another walk
Kevin is a very engaging and informative guide. It really brings the history of the people, streets, trades and industries of Birmingham to life.
Really interesting tour, lots of new information about the history of Birmingham. I definitely want to go back and do another one.
I have been on several of kevins walking tours and always enjoy them. Interesting and enjoyable !
Kevin is informative and entertaining. He is mindful of the group and moves at a good pace. Even horrible rain couldn't spoil the experience!
This tour was great and really interesting. It was peppered with a lovely mix of facts and human interest information from a variety of sources, such as news paper archives 👏😊
