Learn how to design and create your very own bespoke ring. In the workshop you will be taught a range of techniques and processes demonstrated by Mollie Paling, from FLUX Jewellery.
In the 2.5 hour workshop you will carve and sculpt your own wax ring using a variety of tools to explore and experiment with mark making, forming shape and surface texture.
Don’t worry, everyone will start with a test piece allowing time to familiarise yourself with the material and methods of making. Once comfortable you will start to create your own ring individually inspired by your own ideas and personal taste. The ring can really be as dramatic or simple as you desire.
By the end of your session you’ll have a finished wax ring ready for casting.
*Extra wide/heavy rings may have additional cost added of approximately £30.
After the class the rings are then sent and cast in 100% recycled silver ( or recycled gold if desired, cost difference will be explained) Then polished up in our workshop and returned within 3 -4 weeks either by collection or post to your door. All levels and abilities are welcome.
Under 18's will need to be accompanied an adult.
Please note : Cancellations made 48 prior to workshop will not be able to be refunded.

I'm Mollie Paling, a Brighton-based jeweller founded in 2015. Since launching my independent shop/workshop Flux Jewellery in the idyllic town of Lewes in 2020, I've been crafting one-of-a-kind handmade pieces that fuse traditional techniques with a contemporary edge.
As a Graduate of Jewellery and Goldsmithing at the Craft Council of Ireland, I have transferred this intensive training of traditional technique and skill alongside my eye for simplistic design and detail. Alongside my commission work I have been teaching ring workshops since 2018, hosting intimate classes all over Brighton/hove/Lewes and surrounding areas. These classes are a chance for students to practice and challenge their creative side. To gain a small experience into the process that goes into making a piece of lost-waxed cast jewellery.
