Punch Needle: Make A Mug Rug

Make a fluffy little coaster for your mug! Join Shannon from Paige and Wynter, who will teach you how to punch needle.

Let's get together and create your first piece! The process is incredibly satisfying and you won't want to stop.

Punch needling is a form of needlework, closely related to rug hooking. Also called 'tufting', punch needling involves using a special hollow needle to punch wool into fabric, which is mounted on an embroidery hoop to keep it taut. The needle creates loops that are kept in place with the tension of the fabric. The end result is a highly textured design which is pleasing to look at and touch.

This is the perfect activity for solo crafters, friends or couples.

What to expect:

  • Be guided every step of the way as you get to grips with punch needle
  • Leave with a finished coaster for yourself or a friend!
  • Colourful wool, punch needles & monks cloth all included
  • A tasty soft drink to keep you hydrated
