Punch Needle Bumblebee Hanging

Imagine creating a unique 3D fluffy bumblebee artwork to hang on your wall. In this workshop Jo will guide you through each process of how to needle punch your three-dimensional bumblebee onto canvas. You will then learn how to line stitching the details of your bee and permanently fix your bee to a circular card with an integral hanging wire.

Punch needling is an easy and addictive form of needlework. It involves using a hollow needle tool to punch wool into fabric mounted on an embroidery hoop to keep it securely in place. The punch needle creates loops that are held through the material with the tension of the fabric, and the wool loops can then be trimmed to create a pleasing sculptural shape.

Jo Ullah (She/Her)

Jo is a mixed-media artist, writer and teacher. Jo describes her process.. "Art has been my main focus all my life, and I can’t imagine ever being without it. I enjoy showing others how simple techniques can be used to create art for themselves. I find the creation process hugely relaxing and meditative, and I hope to bring that sense of peace to the practices I teach."
