Join designer-maker Jenny Ford for a unqiue paper craft and floral design workshop.
Combining traditional origami and paper craft techniques with dried stems to create one-off arrangements - from sculptural single stems to fabulous everlasting bouquets.
This workshop will introduce you to three of Jenny's favourite fold paper flowers - learn to; identify the best papers to use, size your flowers accordingly, and master the techniques to finish and assemble your piece.
This workshop can also be tailored for parties and craft groups.
Learn about modern Japanese floral design or Ikebana, and get inspired by simple drying and colouring techniques so you can prepare your own stems for future projects.
Work at your own pace; enjoy the meditative processes of paper folding and working with natural and sculpted forms, build on your own creations with Jenny's pre-made pieces and selection of dried stems.
Japanese teas and mocktails will be available to buy during the evening.

Sparks Bristol is located in Broadmead and easily accessible by all main bus routes through the centre - E-scooter and bike parking are close by. This workshop will be held on the first floor. Access is via the fire door to the right of the main entrance on Broadmead. Please arrive 5 mins before the session to allow for a prompt start.
Located in the Sparks 'department store with a difference' in Broadmead, No Small Thing delivers a wide range of creative re-making, repair and maintenance sessions, talks and other events. Founded by creative Jenny, their aim is to share positive, practical actions that keep resources in circulation for longer, putting less demand on the Earth for virgin resources.

Jenny is a multidisciplinary designer and has lead a range of practical and design focused workshops. Jenny has been paper crafting since her childhood, and has exhibited her paper sculptures and jewellery across the UK. Jenny studied sculpture and fabrication at Falmouth College of Arts before moving to Bristol. She runs a built environment consultancy (Materials in Mind), educates on sustainable materials and the circular economy. Jenny helped to establish the Department of Reuse and Resources at Sparks, and launched the Repair Cafe and workshop through her social enterprise No Small Thing.
