New venue: The Sundial Kitchen, Totterdown, BS3 4TU
If your child enjoys painting, drawing, crafting and generally getting creative, these sessions will be right up their street! Each day, Kate will lead a four-hour workshop for a small group of children age 6 to 12 years, with carefully planned activities that have a flexible outcome to suit all abilities.
Tuesday 22nd October: Drawing skills special
An opportunity to enjoy sketching and drawing with lovely pens, pencils, inks, pastels and charcoal on a variety of papers. The session will be a combination of planned activities including skills on how to draw from life and shading techniques as well as time allocated for free-drawing with the resources.
Wednesday 23rd October: Painting
Use quality acrylic paints and a canvas board to create a painting to be proud of. We will build up layers of paint so the children experience creating a painting with depth and interest, using different techniques to apply the paint. We will follow a set approach of how to create a background / midground and foreground with each child having their own choice of subject matter. (It will be great if the children bring along images of things they would like to be inspired by)
December: Dates tbc There will be more sessions next school holiday with a range of activities each day using a wide variety of quality materials to allow the children to experience and experiment with different processes. These sessions provide each child with the confidence to have a go and the opportunity to take an activity in their own creative direction.
Age restrictions: 6+
One session (One child (please state name / age in comments box)) | £32 |

My daughter loves going to Kate’s art workshops. The quality of teaching is excellent, the standard of work they return with is sometimes astonishing given their age. The resources they use and the techniques they learn mean that the kids are able to experience something they certainly won’t be able to just at school. Kate is a brilliant teacher and really good with the kids. Highly recommended for bidding artists.
