Music For A Blue Planet. Sit back and contemplate our Blue Planet whilst being immersed in wonderful music inspired by planet Earth.

The backdrop to this fantastic concert is the extraordinary Gaia installation hanging in the centre of Bristol Cathedral. The Bristol Ensemble will take you on an incredible journey of music inspired by nature, from the BBC series Blue Planet by George Fenton to the Four Seasons by four different composers Einaudi, Richter, Piazzolla and Vivaldi. The timeless Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Part and Tundra by Ole Gjeilo gives you space to meditate in this unique concert that will transport you to an off planet experience! Conducted by Roger Huckle, this promises to be a night to remember.

About the Musicians

Bristol Ensemble

Since its foundation in 1994, by violinist and Chief Executive Roger Huckle, the Bristol Ensemble has been at the forefront of musical life in Bristol and the Southwest. Versatility is one of Bristol Ensemble’s greatest attributes.

From the music of the 17th century, performed on original instruments, through to contemporary composition and experimental music, Bristol Ensemble is a collective of specialists that collaborate to provide the highest calibre of performance for a wide range of audiences.

A bar will be available throughout the event. Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks will be available. Card only.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure there is a ratio of no more than four children to one adult. Children's ear defenders are available to borrow on a first come first served basis.

  • Please ensure you have your Yuup e-ticket ready to show on entry

  • This is a seated event. The seats are 485 mm wide, 553 mm deep and the seat is 456 mm from the floor. Some seats with arms are available.

  • There is level access to the event. Temporary toilets will be available outside of the Cathedral for this event.

  • We recommend using public transport - use buses to the City Centre/Park Street. The nearest car park is College Street.
