Have you been wanting to master the art of upholstery and create your own bespoke piece of furniture? In our 3 week Modern ECO Footstool upholstery course you'll learn traditional upholstery craft techniques in a friendly, sociable and supportive environment at our studio in Staple Hill, Bristol.
Using a combination of traditional and modern techniques you will assemble the frame and upholster it with fabric of your choice. You'll be able to make buttons to customise your design or leave it plain. Use wooden legs for a more traditional look or hairpin legs for a more modern style. Leave the course with a beautiful footstool to put your feet up at home on!
The ECO choice for upholstery: You will be upholstering your footstool with a revolutionary new sustainable material called Ultraflex, which is flame-resistant, hypo-allergenic, chemical-free, British made and 100% recyclable.
Choose your legs! Included in the price are the standard 8" black hairpin legs but you also have the choice of square or round tapered legs and the more tradition looking Queen Anne style (at extra cost, payable after booking).
All materials are supplied except the top fabric. You will need to bring 1m of upholstery fabric to cover your footstool with. The standard frame is 18x14 inches.
There is a maximum of 6 students per class, each with their own workbench and tools. Everyone will get plenty of help from our experienced upholstery tutor Bey.
The courses runs for 3 consecutive weeks from 6:30-9:30pm.
