Midsummer Cider Fiesta

5 hrs 30 mins
(6)

Saddle up and join us for an evening of cider tasting to accompany the spicy flavours of a Mexican BBQ, with live music provided by Bristol legends the Harrisons!

On arrival, pick up a welcome glass of cider and sip it as you ramble around our orchards (and vineyard) and cidery, hopefully in glorious midsummer sunshine!, learn about our approach to cider-making and enjoy samples of four more of our ciders, finishing with a shot of Wild West Gin (and optional tonic!) - using our very own cider as a botanical.

To accompany your cider, get stuck into our special Mexican themed barbecue. Enjoy the music in a relaxed atmosphere - lounge around on hay bales, chat to friends old and new about the delights of cider on a midsummer's evening!

What to expect:

  • A welcome glass of cider upon arrival.
  • A guided tour around the orchards and cidery.

Wild West Cider

Wild West Cider deliver unique cider tastings and events at their Failand Farm just outside of Bristol city centre. Their home-grown ciders are full of interesting flavours and are made using the traditional methods of cider making. Hand-picked apples from local orchards are at their core, and all Wild West Ciders are wild fermented using naturally occurring yeast to produce a variety of delicious blends. With little to no intervention, these blends are truly the real thing.

Sean Beaton

Sean arrived in North Somerset during lockdown and never left, having been seduced by the idea of making wine and cider - and also becoming Matt's son-in-law! Having left city life behind he is never happier than in the seat of a tractor or cleaning tanks in the cidery! He has shown a real talent for managing ciders through the fermentation process and producing some truly delicious blends!

Matt Stephenson

Matt got into cider making by accident having originally set out to make wine. Having spent 35 years in an office he became a farmer (also by accident) and decided that growing fruit and making drinks would be more fun than keeping sheep. He has always been fascinated by the magic of the fermentation process. A devotee of spaghetti westerns, the name Wild West Cider came to him in a flash of inspiration whilst watching Once Upon a Time in the West for the umpteenth time.
