Join Sprouts of Bristol and make your own little forest in a jar! In this two-hour terrarium making workshop you will learn how to make a closed forest terrarium.
A closed forest terrarium is like a forest in a jar with Jurassic ferns, wooden or stone structures, and plenty of moss. These little worlds are designed to be self-sufficient and make their own atmospheres!
Your host for this experience is Head Sprout Jessy, who will be guiding you through the process and supplying you with fresh hot drinks and cake to get you on your way.
In this experience, you will:
This experience is perfect for the plant lover or anyone looking to learn new things! You'll leave with a charming little forest world that you can take home and cherish!
Your host will provide plenty of tea, coffee and sweet treats from 404 Bakes to help you on your crafting adventure.
These workshops are also BYOB, so you are welcome to bring your own tipple! Or, visit friends of the host at The Green Man pub up the road, who will be happy to give you a takeaway pint!

Great fun!
Fantastic evening, doing something a bit different and creative. It was a gift, but I also got to enjoy it, win-win!
Jessy was a fantastic teacher/host and created a very comfortable and relaxing environment for this workshop. I really enjoyed making a terrarium and felt like a learned a lot throughout, as well as how to maintain it. The shop itself was beautiful and I will definitely be returning soon for more workshops/shopping! Thank you Jessy!
A really enjoyable experience and we loved the end result
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, very pleased with my terrarium. I would have liked to understand a bit more about how the ecosystem in the terrarium should work.
Really loved this experience.
Fantastic host, super helpful and bubbly, lovely and very knowledgeable. Would love to do another workshop at Sprout so will be keeping my eyes peeled 😍
What a wonderful experience thank you 😊

Great workshop, well led, pleased with my terrarium!
Jessy was great at making us feel welcome and explaining the steps in our terrarium workshop and we left with some lovely items to bring nature into our home :)
Wonderful, creative fun. Jessie our host was very welcoming. Learnt a fair amount about these tiny eco systems. Would highly recommend.
We had a super experience with a lovely host and enjoyed having our terrariums to take away with us :)
We had a great time. Jessy is a truly down to earth host and instructions were easy to follow. My Son really enjoyed himself. Thank you so much!
It was a lovely vibrant experience! Super accommodating and fun.
Such a lovely time learning about terrariums, I'm excited to now turn every spice jar, sauce bottle and vase into a terrarium! Our host was lovely and all her little touches made the evening very special. The shop was beautiful and I came away smiling.
Really enjoyed the experience, lovely friendly and helpful host. Attended individually and made to feel very welcome, free hot drink and brownie included as well as making an excelled Forest Terrarium. Would highly recommend.
Really fun and engaging activity. Bought as a surprise for my girlfriend and she loved it! The host was brilliant. Was able to bring our own wine. Definitely would recommend
Jessy was a great host and the shop is amazing
Lovely experience! And great value!
Excellently hosted session, with guidance to get started and if we needed support, but also freedom to create independently. Plenty of materials to choose from and use, and I was very happy with the terranium I went home with!
Jessy comes from a creative background, with a 10 year graphic design career behind her. She has been surrounded by plants her entire life, from her grandparents luscious back gardens to digging up spuds with her Nana and even the many house plants in her childhood home whilst growing up in 90s in Liverpool. When not in the shop, she can often be found sampling Bristols wide range of exciting restaurants, working in her potager garden with her trusty spud digger Zelda or planning the next exciting adventure!
