Make a Chain bracelet

Learn the skill of chain making! This workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers. It helps if you've been to one of our workshops before as there is some slightly detailed soldering. Your host will support you with anything you find difficult.

What to expect:

  • Learn the skill of chain making
  • Suitable for beginners and improvers
  • Guidance on detailed soldering
  • How to shape and cut links
  • Choose between making a loose link or curb chain
  • Option of copper (included) or silver (extra cost on weight of bracelet)
  • measuring and calculating bracelet size
  • If making a curb chain then compressing and filing links
  • Making an 'S-Hook' clasp
  • Polishing and finishing

You'll be hosted by

Sam Ritte (He/Him)

Sam studied 3D design craft at Plymouth University with a focus on jewellery and metalwork.

He then moved to London to work for the internationally renowned Great Frog. He worked for two years on production for retail and then moved up to be workshop manager. After 3 years running a busy studio he left to focus on his own already successful jewellery brand.

Sam is incredibly technically minded and has a strong manufacturing background. As well as beginners Chain making, he is offering one to one sessions in our studio room for jewellers to upskill in their personal practice.
