A one-day workshop in the holidays for 9+ year olds to gain confidence on a sewing machine.

Our kids beginner sewing workshop is perfect if your child or teen is interested in machine sewing but doesn't have the confidence or basic skills to get started. Here, Lauren will teach the basic techniques, and students will make a drawstring bag and a personalised applique cushion during the day workshop.

What’s Included?

  • A full-day beginner-friendly sewing workshop for ages 9+
  • Step-by-step guidance on threading, stitching, hemming, and applique
  • Hands-on projects: a drawstring bag and a personalised applique cushion
  • All materials, sewing accessories, and entry-level sewing machines provided (or bring your own)
  • Supportive learning environment with the option for a carer to stay if needed

PLEASE NOTE: We need a minimum of 3 participants for the workshop to go ahead. We will inform you 10 days before the workshop date if we haven't met this number.

Lauren Holloway (She/Her)

Designer and Maker Lauren Holloway has been running her own slow-fashion handbag and accessory brand since 2013. Lauren specialises in making sustainable bags, purses, laptop cases and toiletry storage, all handcrafted in her Bristol-based studio. She has extensive knowledge and experience in designing patterns and sewing anything from coin purses to backpacks. Lauren offers a range of sewing workshops from beginner to intermediate level, where participants can learn the basics of using a domestic sewing machine, brush up on existing sewing skills or develop new techniques to improve their craft. You’ll leave the workshop with new-found knowledge and inspiration for future projects plus you’ll take home a beautiful handmade bag you can enjoy for years to come.
