Contextualising the Global - How Climate Justice Issues Play Out on the Ground
Focusing on key themes of global climate justice including power dynamics, decision making, loss and damage, and gender inequality, Alix and Mrittika will explore core points of contention surrounding global climate change governance.
To bring these issues into focus and contextualize them, this talk will focus on two case studies that shine a light on lived experiences of local people. One case study is in rural India and Bangladesh where Mrittika has undertaken fieldwork with women who are on the front lines of climate impact. The second is Bristol, where Alix has been working with environmental policy makers in the city on diversity and inclusion issues.
We will wrap up with some reasons to be hopeful!
