There's no sweeter or more harmonious way to begin the day with the dawn chorus or morning birdsong. This melodic sound of spring when all the birds sing together at the start of a new day is quite something. If you have never heard it before, it will simply blow your mind!
If you're keen to know what our common songbirds sound like, this experience will hit the right note. Your host's dawn birdsong walks in the Forest of Dean are an ideal way of getting out early (or late), hearing the onset of spring, and learning who's who in the bird world.
Open up your ears to a rich new world of melodies and their meaning, while getting closer acquainted with our feathered friends. Find out how birdsong can be used to attract a mate, call in the flock and defend their territory. The Forest of Dean is the perfect setting where you can fully immerse yourself in an enchanting experience - let yourself be uplifted by nature's most powerful chorus.
If a 5AM or 5.30AM start is too early for you, early bird walks that begin at around 7.00AM or 8AM are also available. If evenings are better, then there's a glorious evening chorus of birdsong too.

Spent a brilliant morning in the forest identifying over 31 different bird species. Ed is a brilliant host and engaging teacher and I would highly recommend the experience!
