Learn To Weave Your Own Fabric - Taster Session

This workshop is for complete beginners or those wanting to try out some new techniques. These summer classes are the perfect chance to try your hand at a new fibre craft.

The two classes can be booked separately or together, which allows the flexibility of more intensive learning if you would like to explore more. They will teach you the basics of setting up a rigid heddle loom and learning to weave your own fabric. The focus is on weaving using wool to create a cushion cover front and perfecting great technique.

What to expect:

• Hands-on workshop in a small group setting (maximum class size of 8)
• Instruction on confidently setting up a rigid heddle loom
• Techniques for weaving, including how to throw a shuttle
• Guidance on creating neat edges and basic troubleshooting
• Tips on finishing your woven piece
• Opportunity to complete a woven fabric piece to take home

In these classes we will endeavour to complete as much weaving as possible so you can leave with a final piece to take home!
