Learn to navigate: map reading in the Cotswolds

Led by an experienced and supportive host, you'll learn how to read a map and understand key navigation skills in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. Everything is taught at your pace, with plenty of time to ask questions and repeat anything you're unsure about.

You’ll explore rolling green hills and peaceful woodlands as you practice what you learn - proving you don’t have to head far off the beaten track to enjoy stunning landscapes and boost your confidence outdoors.

This experience is ideal for anyone who wants to start their navigation journey, build up their outdoor confidence, or just enjoy a great day of learning and walking in the fresh air.

How to get there

On the day

  • Meeting point: May Lane car park, Dursley
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult
  • Maps will be provided. Just make sure you're kitted out for a day in the outdoors with outdoor, supportive shoes, waterproofs, sun cream, lunch and water.
  • You don't need to be super fit or speedy but you should be comfortable walking at least 6km/4miles over uneven ground including some hills and stiles. Please inform me of any relevant health/medical/additional needs prior to attending.
