Our beginner classes are one hour long and are suitable for both complete beginners and those with some dance experience. After warming up, we'll start with a simple group dance, and then break into smaller groups to learn choreography and technique. We finish the class with another group dance.

Fun class with very welcoming atmosphere. Lovely group. Some people were regulars so had their routines but no problem for the absolute beginners being given instructions and time to practice. Really enjoyed it and enjoyed seeing the dancing some of the others were practising. Nice when you needed a rest, it's a great workout for the legs.
Please do not attend class if you are experiencing symptoms of a respiratory infection.
It is best to wear clothes that are easy to move in i.e sports clothing, and either trainers or Jazz / Ballet shoes. Bring trainers to warm up in, and a drink.
The studio is in the City Centre, with good public transport links. There is paid car parking in the streets surrounding the venue. We advise dancers to arrive 5 minutes early to meet the group and get ready to dance.

Katie started Irish Dancing at the age of 7, inspired by watching the iconic ‘Riverdance’. After falling in love with the art form she has enjoyed a dancing career spanning over 27 years - performing at prestigious venues, competing at the World Irish Dancing Championships, and passing her Irish Dance teaching exams. Katie founded Horizon to pass her knowledge and passion to new dancers through enjoyable and rewarding classes, as part of a supportive community.
