James Dorman's Sonic Art Collective. After wowing audiences with his Luna Art Ensemble's performance at Bristol Cathedral in 2021, James Dorman returns with his Sonic Art Collective.
Prepare for an extraordinary experience as James Dorman debuts his original composition for Gaia. This concert will transport the audience on a journey that explores our home planet and the profound connection we share with it. James Dorman’s Sonic Art Collective features vibraphone, piano, cello, saxophone, and guitar, interwoven with ambient electronica and found sounds from nature and human experiences to create a rich and immersive soundscape. The live musicians are encouraged to add improvised ornamentation, making the performance a unique work of art.
Raw and found sounds develop an exposition of our relationship with Planet Earth, evoking the beauty and complexity of the world around us. The concert will take listeners from intense cacophonies to exquisite melodic moments, written specifically for the cathedral’s resonant acoustics.
This is an opportunity to celebrate the rich tapestry of our planet and the connections we share, through a performance that is both compelling and profoundly moving.
About James Dorman James Dorman is an original composer and sonic artist who examines the world around him through sound.
