Introduction to Handbuilding Class

Have you ever wanted to create your own personalised mug or handmade plates for your dinner table?

Then look no further, you will be offered a warm welcome to my studio, complete with a cup of tea or coffee to help you settle in and which will be regularly offered throughout the class! I will then introduce myself as well as give you a brief overview of the studio and the tools you'll be using during the session.

Then using a range of hand building techniques to demonstrate from pinch pots, coiling building to the slab technique, you'll be equipped to create your own personalised mug, plate, bowl and anything in between! So come armed with ideas as the options are limitless as to what you can create.

You'll learn step by step how to initially shape, form, and build a mug with plenty of time for more ideas afterwards. As I will be on hand to guide you and offer tips as needed.

Once your mug is finished, I will take care of the glazing and firing. Your finished mug and other wonderful work will be ready for collection in 4-6 weeks. If you prefer, you can have it posted to you for a small additional fee payable on the day.

This workshop offers a friendly and supportive environment where you can learn new skills and create a personal piece to take home!
