A day in Havana - A Cuban dance experience

Prepare to be taken on a magical journey through the streets of Cuba’s capital city. This experience will transport you to Old Havana.

Think mojitos, smooth Cuban rhythms, palm trees and old American cars. Who best to guide you on that journey than Abelardo from ‘Salsa is Life’ - a Cuban dance teacher and street performer from Old Havana! Abelardo is proud to be sharing Cuba’s rich cultural heritage during this intimate tour de force of Cuban dance music.

This experience will cover:

• 35 minutes of salsa:

• Cuba is the birthplace of salsa! You will learn the basic timing, rhythms and fundamental movements of the most famous of all the Latin dances

• Second 35 minutes of Afro-Cuban:

• After a 15 minute break it's time to awaken your inner warrior as you celebrate Cuba’s African heritage and intertwine ancient storytelling, dance, and religion through powerful, rhythmic dances.

• Third 30 minutes of Reggaeton:

• Now it’s time to turn on the disco lights and party like the Cubans - finish off with a reggaeton dance party! Move those hips and have fun dancing to the latest and greatest hits.

Absolutely no dance experience is required for this workshop - everyone is welcome!
