You'll be hosted by

Bethany Davies (She/Her)

Born in Birmingham, Beth now lives in Redditch. Her love affair with the arts has been a lifelong relationship so she’s been honing her artistic skills since childhood: painting, drawing & crafting every chance she got. After doing her Art GCSE, she took A-Level art where she discovered a new joy: pottery, then it was on to complete a foundation degree in art.
Now an accomplished prisma portrait artist, Beth specialises in animal portraits, as well as working in paints, digital graphic design, photography & pottery. When not arting, she enjoys reading books, getting inspiration listening to podcasts, & taking her multiple dogs for long walks.
Bringing a more formal art education to the FaBd team, Beth may be our colouring pencil expert, but she also designed our logo & most of our media! She’s also full of encouragement, making her a delight to work with & will gladly answer all your art questions.

Francoise Krull (She/Her)

Francoise goes by Fran in person but has been known online as the artist Lace9 for well over a decade. A self-taught, self-described, ‘constant artist’ selling her works globally for at least the last fifteen years. She returned to her home city of Birmingham five years ago after a 10-year sojourn in America.
Since returning, Fran began running pop-up shops in a variety of venues, including Oasis Market, one of her beloved teenage haunts. From there, she became Birmingham’s first Artnight artist, teaching large classes of varied skills, to paint an array of splendid paintings, always in under 2 hours as well as training several others to follow in her footsteps.
When the pandemic struck & she was forced to shield, she used the time to expand her artistic skills & worked on editing/illustrating the second fantasy novel in her ongoing series, which is now available for purchase on amazon alongside her first. When she’s not creating or at some massive event popping-up with her wares, she & her family sell them from her shop: The Hand-Drawn Stores, at Northfield Market, on one of Birmingham’s most vibrant high streets.
A firm believer that everyone is an artist & missing the real-time connection of her regular classes - not to mention constantly fielding questions from those wishing to learn - Fran decided it was high time she started classes of her own. Preferably as different to Artnights as possible, given her hope - when the company resumes in the UK - to continue tutoring both. So together with Bethany, a talented colouring artist, they began planning what would soon become FaBd: Fran and Beth drawing art classes. Offering a variety of short-term courses to help even those who “can only draw a stickman”, properly get to grips with the right pencils.
Brummie born & bred, Fran brings empowering creative inspiration to our classes. Sick to the back teeth of broken leads, she’s also the main designer behind our nifty FaBd pencil case.
