About the Artists:
Tomorrow's Warrior Presents Kianja
An alumna of the Tomorrow’s Warriors development programme, singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer was raised on a musical diet of soul, reggae, and jazz. Kianja has developed a reputation as a songwriter who channels her emotions through her music and writes honest songs that ‘go for the gut’. Couple this with her powerful live performances, and it is no wonder that she is firmly on the ‘one to watch list’ as a rapidly emerging, fascinating young artist.
JOW
"stately trumpet lines of lament & renewal soar gently above earthy cello sounds and together weave an English landscape" (Friendly Records)
JOW is a deliciously uncategorisable acoustic instrumental duo, comprising James Gow on cello and Pete Judge on trumpet. Their music, as featured on BBC Radio 6Music, blends jazz and improv with elements of folk and classical chamber music. Formed in 2021, the duo has quickly established a reputation for beautifully unusual music-making, alongside a growing series of unpredictable collaborations.
Adrian Utley and David Okumu Mercury nominated singer-songwriter and producer Dave Okumu is the youngest child of eight siblings, born in Vienna, Austria, to Kenyan parents. The family later moved to London when he was 10. Growing up in a musical household, Okumu recalls being introduced to 80s funk and soul by his older sisters and being taught how to play guitar by his brother.

Fabulous, chilled evening
It was really good
Great performances
It was a creative and relaxing evening. Was impressed by how responsive staff were at putting out chairs. Having somewhere to sit made the whole evening much better
A great third concert.
It was a lovely experience, a great way to spend an evening! I really enjoyed the music performances, and having the cathedral and Earth installation as the backdrop was beautiful.
The music at the beginning was so so but it was brilliant at the end. Would be nice to know what time the main act was coming on when booking.
A wonderful way to experience Luke Jerram's Gaia.
Great atmosphere! Impactful and make you think about the world and beyond.
The cathedral was a super venue to show off Gaia and the music definitely added to the ambiance. Not sure that I would have called the music 'jazz', but it worked really well and people were fully immersed in the experience. Great (and unexpected) to have a pop-up bar as well.
Three great performances under the earth! Adrian Utley & Dave Okumu particularly brilliant.
There is level access to the event. Temporary toilets will be available outside of the Cathedral for this event.
We recommend using public transport - use buses to the City Centre/Park Street. The nearest car park is College Street.
Standing at the heart of Bristol's vibrant city centre, Bristol Cathedral is one of England's great medieval churches. For almost 900 years it has been a living place of sanctuary, teaching, prayer and music. Events at Bristol Cathedral range from family-friendly Crafty Cathedral sessions to gin tasting and guided tours in the Norman Chapter House, through to large-scale light shows.
