About the Artists:

Mario Bukuna

Sura Susso

Sura Susso was born in The Gambia, into a family of griots. Griots are cultural figures in society across West Africa, who carry the customs, knowledge and identity of the people. Sura's quest to promote the traditional music from his cultural roots in The Gambia and his fascination with experimenting new genres have led him to perform and record in a number of interesting cross-cultural settings.

Faris Ishaq

"When the Nay Flute moves towards the authentic self, The soul gradually moves towards the unknown, There is such brilliance in this esteemed work" Le Trio Joubran A Palestinian Nay Master, Percussionist, and Composer, Faris explores news territories with the Nay, an ancient Middle Eastern flute dating back to 5000 B.C. Rooted in his Palestinian heritage and passion for the Nay, Faris celebrates its cultural legacy in today’s modern musical landscape. Expect an intimate and immersive sonic journey with a rich tapestry of traditional and innovative sounds.

A bar will be available throughout the event. Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks will be available. Card only. A Challenge 25 policy will be in place so please bring ID.

Entry Time

The time on your ticket is your entry time. Once you are in the Cathedral, you are welcome to stay until the Cathedral closes at 9.30pm. Please arrive at the time stated on your ticket.

Children

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please ensure there is a ratio of no more than four children to one adult. Children's ear defenders are available to borrow on a first come first served basis.

On the day

  • There is level access to the event. Temporary toilets will be available outside of the Cathedral for this event.

  • We recommend using public transport - use buses to the City Centre/Park Street. The nearest car park is College Street.

  • There will be some seating available throughout the Cathedral. Most of the seats are 485 mm wide, 553 mm deep and the seat is 456 mm from the floor. Some seats with arms are available.
