Join Tasha for a tactile & therapeutic, creative workshop where you’ll learn how to make your own felted animal (or whatever else takes your fancy!) hat using soft and luxurious Merino wool.
You’ll discover the ancient art of felting, a process of transforming wool into fabric using different techniques... In this workshop, you will learn the 'wet-felting' method and also learn how to use a special needle to add details and shapes to your creation. Tasha will guide you step-by-step and help you create a unique and adorable accessory that you can wear with pride or gift to a loved one.
You’ll have a choice of colours and styles to suit your personality and mood. Do you want to be a fox, an octopus, a cat, a frog or maybe a fantastical creature of your own imagination!? find your perfect match in felt. Add ears, tails, or other features to make your hat extra special.
You’ll leave the workshop with your new, unique creature creation, as well as a needle felting kit to continue your felting journey at home and add any finishing touches. You’ll have a lot of fun and laughter along the way, as you connect with your playful side and enjoy a sensory and relaxing experience.
The workshop takes place at Unit 8 Studios, a hidden gem in St Werburghs, where you can peek inside one of Bristol’s creative hubs. Tea, coffee and cakes are provided, and you can also bring your own drinks and snacks if you like. There will be a break half-way through to have a spot of lunch, so you can either bring something along or nip out to one of the local shops to grab a bite.
This workshop is brought to you by Creatopia Club, who are a community of creatives on a mission to encourage people of all abilities to explore new ways of expressing themselves through art and craft. Creatopia Club believes that everyone can benefit from creative play, as it improves wellbeing and social connection. No matter your age or skill level, you’ll feel welcome and inspired at this workshop.
If you’re looking for a fun and unique activity for your group, you can also book this workshop as a private experience at a venue of your choice.
