Fox Fest Weekend: ancient basketry

Have you ever wondered what life was like in ancient times? Come join in at Dagger Camping and Outdoor pursuits to find out.

Basketry is one of the most ancient crafts in existence, the ability to store things and move things around would have been of great importance to ancient people.

This workshop teaches one of the earliest and simplest forms of basketry: “coil basketry”. This involves the stitching together of “coils” (clumps consisting of lengths of a plant material, such as grass or pine needles). Anything from a small pot to a large chair can be made using this technique.
