Foraging Workshop: Wild Syrups, Oils & Tonics

Experience a hands-on foraging workshop through riverside paths and woodlands before making your own wild medicine using plants you've found.

What to expect: - Walking through beautiful green space - Discovering new greenery and blossom medicine that can be captured and used as medicine - Your knowledgeable host Maria will show you how to identify and collect these from the hedgerows - A wildcrafting workshop where you'll be shown a range of ways to make wild medicine using the wild leaves and blossoms to enhance their taste and the healing properties - This experience is suitable for beginners and advanced foragers.

You'll learn how to identify and harvest these fragrant medicines, which look-a-likes to avoid and how to leave enough for the rest of nature.

You’ll then take to the wildcrafting station to make a unique wild blend with the plants you have seen and gathered on your walk. You will discuss the multiple ways to make medicine from different herbs, combining taste and properties so you can make sure your creations are delicious and powerful to take home and enjoy.

Expect to unearth the delights of sustainable foraging and plant identification throughout the day and learn how to infuse herbs properly to extract medicinal properties from the plants. This is invaluable knowledge that will last you a lifetime!

You'll be hosted by

Healing Weeds

Healing Weeds was created to reconnect us to both the traditional and scientific knowledge about the abundant wild edible and medicinal plants around us.

Through walks and workshops, these experiences are a place for you to gain confidence in foraging for your own wild food and medicine - and letting your unique creativity guide you onwards.

Maria Fernandez Garcia

Maria is a Bristol-based forager and herbalist who started Healing Weeds to create a fun, human and relatable way to access foraging, no matter your experience.

Maria absolutely loves sharing this easy-to-learn knowledge through foraging walks, workshops and courses in Bristol where she shows people how to confidently identify and use some of the most common (and often most healing) plants in their local area.
