Discover Three Classic Italian Dishes

Local Italian flavours and new dishes await in this Italian food evening, hosted by Cooking It. Discover how to make three fresh Italian dishes perfect for entertaining - then enjoy eating every dish made at the end.

The focus will be on simple, delicious flavours and fresh, seasonal ingredients, as is the Italian way. You’ll discover more about regional flavours and traditions and the way different variations on classic recipes can be found in regions around the country. Your three dishes will depend on the fresh ingredients available and could include:

  • Wild mushroom arancini
  • Sicilian caponata
  • Risotto
  • Chicken involtini
  • Lightly spiced gnocchi with a smoked haddock cream sauce
  • Tempting chocolate, almond and pear tart with red wine syrup
  • Gnudi made from ricotta with brown butter and herbs
  • Amaretto sabayon
  • Chocolate biscotti
  • Classic tiramisu
  • Tegole valdostane

Whilst you may be able to help with some of the food prep, for the majority of this experience your chef host will demo the cooking. You’re invited to bring your own wine or beer to enjoy as you watch, and then tuck in to all the dishes together at the end.

Discover some truly delicious Italian classics and leave with the recipes to recreate each at home.

You'll be hosted by

Monica

Monica is the founder of Cooking It. She was born in Barcelona but has called Bristol home for almost 30 years. Monica grew up around food and could regularly be found in the kitchen of her grandparents’ restaurant, soaking up all the flavours and recipes - so much so she still loves making the tapas recipes she learnt as a child. She returns to Barcelona often to carry on discovering new recipes in her family’s restaurants and patisseries. When Monica isn’t sharing her cooking know-how, you’ll find her enjoying wine with friends and feeding people - often her four daughters and their friends.
