An Evening of Persian Cookery (BYOB)

Discover why Persian cuisine is so well-loved and taste a selection of authentic dishes, in this food evening, with Cooking It. Bring along your own wine or beer to enjoy with your food, as you tuck in to every dish made.

A truly social event, Persian meals often last into the night as each dish is brought out one by one. This cuisine is a Cooking It favourite and on the menu will be 3-4 recipes made using seasonal produce, which can include:

  • Crispy rice balls with feta, mint and pul biber
  • Peanut and chicken stew with freshly made flatbread
  • Maast o khiar - a selection of dips
  • Persian vegetarian frittata
  • Salted caramel and date vegan cake
  • Syrup poached apricots with walnuts and clotted cream
  • Rosewater poached pears with cardamom

Much of the menu and recipes can be adapted to the guests, and vegetarians are more than welcome - simply share any dietary requirements on booking. This is a hands-on experience where you will get to experiment with recipes and have the freedom to try things out for yourself under the guidance of your chef.

You’ll go away with the insight to create these flavourful Persian dishes yourself and the recipes for everything made on the night.

Monica

Monica is the founder of Cooking It. She was born in Barcelona but has called Bristol home for almost 30 years. Monica grew up around food and could regularly be found in the kitchen of her grandparents’ restaurant, soaking up all the flavours and recipes - so much so she still loves making the tapas recipes she learnt as a child. She returns to Barcelona often to carry on discovering new recipes in her family’s restaurants and patisseries. When Monica isn’t sharing her cooking know-how, you’ll find her enjoying wine with friends and feeding people - often her four daughters and their friends.
