Joyful Art Club: 5-Week Evening Art Course

Looking for time and space to explore creativity and unleash your inner artist? Join us at the studio for our Joyful Art Club For Adults, running every Wednesday evening over 5 weeks. A space to unwind, create, meet new people and try fun, feel-good and joyful art making practices.

All abilities are welcome and each session is beginner-friendly, as we dive into a truly tantalising range of creative activities designed to help you unleash your inner artist and spark joy!

Each week will focus on a different craft, providing quality materials and equipment along with expert guidance and tuition ...

What to expect?

Week one: Gelli printing & collage - starting off your art club sketchbook with some fun and playful collage to ease into your creativity, followed by creating colourful monoprints using gelli plates. You will be able to take a variety of prints home, and also create backgrounds to be used later in the term.

Week two: Playful pottery - Learn simple pottery techniques to create pinch pots, trinket trays and more. Plenty of equipment is provided and you will be encouraged to create objects that you can paint and marble on to later in the term.

Week three: Textile art - learn the art of working with wool to create 'felt paintings' taking inspiration from real or imagined landscapes. Play with colour and textures and learn wet and dry felting techniques.

Week four: Marbling - explore the magical world of water marbling and learn to create mesmerising patterns using marbling inks. marble onto paper as well as 3d objects such as pottery pieces from week two.

Week five: Print & Pattern - Create block prints using lino and experiment with printmaking techniques to create prints and patterns onto paper and fabrics.


Art Club is a great way to meet new people - many people bring themselves along, and leave with new friendships :) It is a time to relax, explore and get creative - make a mess and not have to tidy up! These sessions are the perfect way to carve out some time for yourself - Give your well-being a boost while getting your hands messy!

Tasha is a community artist with a passion for using the powers of creativity to aid wellbeing and social connection. She loves to discover new creative processes and bring people together to share, create and play. With a background of working with vulnerable groups in the community, she believes strongly that art-making should be accessible to everyone, and wants to bring a healthy dose of creative play to people of all ages, abilites and backgrounds (in a world that can feel far too serious at times)

Tasha has been hosting creative workshops for the past decade and enjoys creating a warm, welcoming environment where creativity can thrive. She likes to encourage everyone to have a go at something new, and loves to see what you create!

Gemma Gale (She/Her)

Gemma is a self-confessed 'crafty queen' with a background in education. She is a lover of many crafts and is passionate about sharing the mindful magic of art-making with others.
