A wonderful and interesting experience. Lots of inside information and close up of costumes.
A fantastic chance to see some quality dancing up close and understand the technique of the steps and appreciate the dedication of a dancer. It was inspiring and has prompted me to start up ballet again
Absolutely terrific!! I would go again in a heart beat. Love love love seeing behind the scenes and watching company classes. In fact, I enjoy this more than watching the performances! Thank you 🙏
It was quite magical, particularly in the setting if the cathedral.
Fabulous evening
An entertaining evening in a beautiful space. It was fabulous to see the dancers up close and the outreach team were energetic and enthusiastic, sharing history, techniques and knowledge of this wonderful art.
It was an interesting evening within a beautiful setting. It was informative and the dancing and costumes were beautiful. Within the cathedral setting it was simply perfect.
Loved the class work and mime. The pieces danced were beautiful because of how easy it was to see arms, legs and foot work. Gorgeous setting and liked informality. Pianist so good too. Thank you for a different evening where we learnt lots.
Lovely to be back with BRB (from an ex-Brummie!)
Very enjoyable and informative.
A really lovely evening, great entertainment and beautiful venue.
A fascinating insight into a dancer's life. I found the class and the demonstration of mime particularly interesting. Maybe more could have been made of the demonstration of the extracts, even if only something about the construction of the costumes, since mention had been made of the skills and expertise of the costume department.
It was a tear jerkingly beautiful performance. Such a privilege to see
It was simply amazing!
Really useful to understand the body language and where ballet came from
Lovely 'behind the scenes' look into the complexity of putting a big ballet show on, really enjoyed it.
Very much appreciated being so close to the performers ,seeing them practice and dance. Very good programme. The Cathedral was good to share such an experience
Amazing behind the scenes glimpse of ballet life and amazing to be so close to the dancers !
Very enjoyable bite size window on ballet from practice to performance. Please repeat this experience next time you come to Bristol. Thank you.
Learnt so much. Gave me a whole new perspective on ballet. Fab.
Highly recommend! Thank you!
This was a wonderful and different experience in the cathedral. The presenters made it so engaging and interesting and had fun with the dancers as well as showing off the amazing skill and training that goes into a ballet performance. I loved the evening.
We were able to get up much closer to the stars and appreciate their skill and creativity
I wish I had seen it 20 years ago because it would have improved my enjoyment of ballet so much! The informality and fun of the program together with the upclose experience with the dancers was terrific
The unexpected format (20m 'training', 40m 'show') was full of educational and interesting information as well as marvellous performances. A delight! (And three cheers for Louis XIV!)
Excellent experience I would highly recommend
Wonderful to see world class dancers so close. The explanations of what they were doing were interesting to anyone, whatever their understanding of ballet (I did it for 25 years). Their excitement at being in a building as stunning as the cathedral made us feel they were getting something out of the experience too, beyond the pleasure of performing. Great performance in a wonderful building!
What a wonderful evening with Birmingham Royal Ballet at beautiful Bristol Cathedral.
An educational, beautiful, fun, interactive experience. Such a treat to see the performers up close and learn more about ballet and Sleeping Beauty.
Loved every moment. Thank you!
Had a fantastic evening, such a great concept - I really hope to see more events like this in the future! Suitable for long-time ballet fans but also would be a great introduction to those new to ballet or wanting to increase their understanding. Loved being able to see the costumes up close too! Thanks so much to everyone who made this event happen.
A wonderful opportunity to see behind the scenes with informative insight of what a dancer does and what goes into a performance. Amazing setting in Bristol Cathedral.
This was such an interesting and unique experience.
Good
Very positive experience
Really special with an intimate insight into Birmingham Royal Ballet. Really imptessd with the daily warm up training, and the techniques. The mime explanation was excellent. Both Hosts were really informative. Costumes on display lovely. A truly wonderful way to spend an hour. Would have loved more.
Delightful insight in a more intimate setting. Brilliant use by BRB of an hour!
This was a great experience, Birmingham Royal Ballet danced beautifully and explained their repertoire and costumes in a lively informative way. Bristol Cathedral hosted this in a friendly and well thought out manner, the seating and stage were well arranged so that I had a great view. I loved seeing the costumes in particular.
Absolutely loved the evening.
Fascinating; innovative; entertaining
The presenters and the dancers were fantastic. It really did give an insight to the dancers lives. Birmingham Royal Ballet seems to be such a positive company.
Using Bristol Cathedral for this event made it feel very special. I didn't want it to end.
very well organized
Superb behind scenes view of this art form.
Exciting, tempting!
It was joyous!
I hugely enjoyed this experience and thought it an inspired idea. The hosting was perfect and location wonderful. The build up showing the class bar work, giving some history, the mime elements, music and costumes topped off by a couple of delightful performances at close quarters was a true treat. I have always been a ballet fan and have seen the BRB many times over the years. More of the same please !

Amazing setting for a wonderful insight into the ballet company and their work. Really enjoyed it.
A most enjoyable hour, excellent comparing and happiness of dancers infectious
Fantastic!
Thoroughly enjoyed it - would love more of these sort of events!
A breath taking experience in an unique location. Birmingham royal ballet were incredible and provided a glimpse at what creates such a fabulous company. I can't wait to see more of their productions. I hope they do more of the same in the future.
Fabulous location and wonderful entertainment with a small glimpse into life in a ballet company.
It was enthralling!
Absolutely loved this experience and have bought tickets for the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Bristol Hippodrome as a result!
Such an amazing experience, it was unique and gave me a better understanding of the ballet and the dancers and choreography and how it all comes together for an incredible evening. The costumes were amazing. The host entertained while I forming which was perfect. And all in the incredible setting of Bristol cathedral. Such a magical evening would happily go again and recommend to anyone to go along and get a taste of the magic of sleeping beauty ballet
