Unleash your creativity: Pottery throwing workshop

Come and spend some time unleashing your creativity and give pottery wheel throwing a go!

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or your fingers have yet to feel the thrill of the wheel, this two hour workshop is your opportunity to step into a world of clay and creativity. Guided by the skilled hands of Ruth, resident pottery maestro, you'll have time to throw and shape pots to your heart’s content, with most guests crafting two or three unique pieces during their time.

Ruth’s live demonstration will show you how to throw and she'll be on-hand for those who need it to guide you through the steps of crafting your new pieces. At the end, choose your favourite to be trimmed, glazed and finished, ready to be picked up after six weeks. If you've fallen in love with multiple creations, you can also have these finished for £7 each (payable on the day).

What's Included:

  • A warm welcome (or welcome back!) to the art of wheel throwing
  • Personal guidance from a pottery expert
  • A full array of materials and tools at your disposal
  • Your own pottery wheel for the session’s duration
  • Refreshments to keep the creativity flowing
  • An inclusive environment for all skill levels

Wheel throwing is a messy and wonderful way to unwind and let go! This workshop is open to anyone and everyone who wants to give it a try. This session would make an excellent date idea or a fun activity to come along and try solo.

Please note: These pottery sessions are designed for groups of two or more. If you’re flying solo, don’t worry - you'll be paired up with another budding artist. Your host will confirm your booking once the minimum is met, and in the rare event of rescheduling, you’ll be notified well in advance.

After the workshop: Patience is a virtue, especially in pottery. Your pieces will undergo a drying process, followed by two kiln firings and a glaze application to achieve that perfect sheen. Ruth handles all these steps with care, ensuring your pottery is ready for collection in about six weeks. She'll reach out the moment they’re ready to become part of your home.
