EmailWhistle Punks has taken axe throwing out of the woods and into the heart of Bristol, making it easy for you to give it a try yourself. Come with friends and family; a single ticket is for two people.
In this experience, your host will demonstrate how to safely and successfully throw an axe, giving you all the tips you need. Once you’ve each given it a try and your axe is hitting the target, it’s time for a tournament. You’ll have a shared lane and an instructor on hand to help with more pointers, as you compete to be crowned the ultimate axe thrower.
All Whistle Punks experiences are designed for complete beginners and you’ll have an instructor on hand throughout. You’ll be throwing at their vibrant All Saint Street venue, where you’ll have a fully stocked bar ready for afterwards and the delicious pizza and ice cream on hand for food.

Wasn't keen.. was a gift and we thought it wasnt our thing but we had the best fun we have had for ages. We didnt know what to expect but it was well organised, and people were welcoming and friendly. Our mentor/teacher Jack was brilliant, easygoing, happy to have us try different things and to go at our pace. And we surprised ourselves with our 'skill'! It great stress reliever and we would definitely go again, and recommend having a go to others.

Really fun evening. Arrived without knowing much about the activity, and found it to be enjoyable, challenging and a really good experience. Took my partner as a surprise gift and she had a lot of fun too. Thanks to the team for looking after us and taking us through everything to do with axe throwing!

My mum and I were joined with another family for the axe throwing, the staff were absolutely brilliant in breaking the ice and teaching us how to throw in the tournament! Loads of fun, highly recommend

We had a great time with Harvey showing us how to throw an axe. Went from completely missing the target board to getting a bullseye! Nice, friendly mood with a bit of competition in the social lanes, very fun and casual atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this, and will definitely be going back!

On the day
All guests must wear closed shoes whilst throwing. Come along wearing comfy clothes that won’t restrict your movement, and ideally flat shoes.

Whistle Punks
Whistle Punks was set up by John and Jools in 2016, with the aim of creating a socially competitive experience with an edge. Their founding London venue opened as the first urban axe throwing location in the UK, and soon the business grew. Fast forward to 2019 and their first Bristol venue was opened in the heart of the city. Since then Whistle Punks has been following through on its promise to celebrate each individual and encourage contribution from everyone. Axe throwing is all about technique over strength, and as most people have never thrown an axe before, it makes for a great skill leveller - everyone misses the first time but within minutes you'll be sinking axes and celebrating like no one's business!
