EmailCome and make some intergalactic beings from scrap materials. What planet will yours be from? This Alien Puppets workshop is an inspired by the Space Shanty exhibition at MShed.
The theme of this workshop is alien puppets. You and your child will have the opportunity to make pop up puppets, sock puppets and alien inspired creations.
The hosts will provide an abundance of scrap materials for you to explore and give you any guidance and support you need to bring your ideas to life! Make as many different creations as you want and you can take them all home.
The theme of these sessions are a starting point for your child’s creativity. The Playroom is full of resources and is a space to explore ideas. Your child may choose to do something different which is fine by us!

Children's Scrapstore is a local charity dedicated to making waste things play things. They work with sustainable resources that have been donated rather than going into landfill.
Their focus is on play and creativity, sessions are child-led. They won't dictate what your child does just provide some materials, prompts and guidance for them to explore the materials as they wish.
This is a stay and play event aimed at primary school children and their parent/carer with younger siblings welcome but please be aware there will be small parts and cool melt glue guns.
All bookings include one-day membership to the Scrapstore Warehouse, where you can collect up to a basket of scrap for a donation of £6 (less if the basket isn't full) - you can visit the warehouse before or after your Alien Puppets experience.

On the day
We will meet you at the door at Children's Scrapstore to check you in for this session which will take place in our dedicated Playroom.
All children must be accompanied by an adult and adults need tickets too.
Please note that whilst we do have a carpark available to our customers, we cannot reserve spaces or guarantee there will be spaces available.

Children's Scrapstore a Bristol based reuse charity dedicated to helping businesses divert reusable waste away from landfill/energy recovery to help improve art and play opportunities for children, young people and adults.
We offer a wide range of playful, open and child-led creative experiences for all ages. We have a focus on reuse so our workshops are a bit different from your standard craft workshops and focus on sustainable opportunities.
Children's Scrapstore Play Team (They/Them)
Our team of experienced playworkers all have a passion for reuse, play and creativity. They will create an interactive fun environment with starting points based on a theme but as they focus on a child led approach children are free to use their imaginations. They can't wait to invite you to explore and create!
