This beginner jewellery course is a brilliant introduction to the craft of silversmithing as you learn to make your own jewellery over 8 weeks of skills-based learning.
The course is centred around directed learning with different tasks being set in each 2-hour session. You will get hands-on help from a professional jeweller, learn how to use jewellery-making tools and learn about the different components and foundational practices in working with precious metals.
By the end of the course, you will have learnt a wide range of silversmithing skills allowing you to continue making your own jewellery from scratch.

Please note: prices include all disposables but do not include silver costs for the course which depends on weight. If you would like to take items away please bring a payment method with you.
The full course is £250 for 8 weeks running from April 30th - June 18th. If you would like to book the full course, please select Feb 13th as your date and purchase an 8-week course ticket. This will secure your place in all 8 sessions. You can choose to come to either the afternoon course OR the evening course. You may not attend both

Maxine is an experienced jeweller, with over 10 years experience within design, making and teaching. Graduating with a BA in Silversmithing in 2009 at Plymouth University of Arts, Maxine then went on to work as Technician for the Jewellery & Metals Studios where she studied, supporting students in their learning for their degrees. In the last 4 years Maxine worked alongside other talented jewellers at Diana Porter where she deepened her knowledge about jewellery design. Her experience in making alongside her patient and supportive teaching style will help you feel creative and confident when beginning to learn how to make jewellery.
