On the outskirts of Bristol, the picturesque Whitchurch venue is the perfect place to enjoy this countryside pursuit. There are a wide variety of shooting ranges on offer at the venue, so no matter what your level, you’ll be able to put your skills to the ultimate test.
Your experience will start with a full safety briefing and then you’ll be kitted out in all the latest safety equipment to keep you protected at all times. When you’re ready to go, you’ll be shown the equipment you’ll be using including ammunition, a variety of guns suitable for all abilities and of course… the ‘pigeons’. Once you feel comfortable handling the equipment, your host will talk you through the technique such as stance, positioning, grip and aim and before you know it you’ll be ready to put your knowledge into practice and start shooting.
If you're a newcomer, don't worry, there are tailor-made targets for beginners and your professionally qualified host will be with you throughout your experience to walk you through the process step-by-step. With all these tips and tricks you’ll be a hotshot in no time!

Had a very fun time at the shooting range with my instructor Andy. He helped me a lot and was very patient as this was my first time shooting a shotgun! Also very friendly and well-organised and would recommend to any beginners looking to learn something new or just to have some fun.

Father and son team Andy and Max are two of the highest-qualified instructors in the South West and provide quality clay pigeon shooting experiences for everyone – for instance, individuals, families, couples and school or university groups. Unlike most other clay shooting providers, they do not mix strangers to form a group. They take any number, from even one individual, and also cater for young shots from around 9 years old. Max and Andy have been established for over 10 years, with excellent reviews and a strong Instagram following.
Andy has been shooting for over 40 years and has been a qualified instructor for the last 13 of those. He has instructed at Lady’s Wood Shooting School under the late Michael Pinker, and currently instructs at various shooting grounds such as Royal Berkshire, Braces of Bristol, Ling Shooting and Mendip. Andy is a qualified professional instructor of the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association Instructor (CPSA) and an associate member of the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors (APSI).
Max Tarr is only 26 but has held a shotgun certificate for 14 years. He is a proficient shot! Max is a Clay Pigeon Shooting Association Instructor (CPSA) instructor as well as a qualified instructor with the Association of Professional Shooting Instructors (APSI).
Max is an approved regional coach with the International Shooting Sports Federation and instructs at numerous shooting grounds, including Holland and Holland, Royal Berkshire, Mendip and Ling Shooting.
