Wine Tasting and Cheese & Charcuterie Pairing

Love charcuterie? Love cheese? Love wine? Then you won't want to miss Clifton Wine School's charcuterie, cheese and wine matching evening! Join your host Ruth and learn about the best cheese and wine pairings to enjoy at home.

You will explore a range of delicious meats and cheeses and match them with some classic wines from around the globe. You will also talk about food and wine matching more generally, and you'll pick up some really good tips to take away and practice at home.

During the evening you will try six different combinations, and while they will vary a bit from one event to another they will include one or more of the following:

  • Spanish chorizo with Rioja Reserva
  • Parma ham with Red Burgundy
  • Wild boar salami with Barolo
  • Rillettes with Chateauneuf du Pape
  • Chevre with Sancerre
  • Snowdonia Cheddar with White Burgundy

This tasting would make the perfect gift for the food and wine lover in your life!

Ruth

Ruth is the owner of Clifton Wine school and is a WSET qualified tutor, with a diploma in wines and spirits. Ruth has been teaching about wine for 10 years and loves pairing wine with food - a particular favourite of hers is the combination of truffles and a good port. Whilst hosting these experiences she loves the delight when people discover why they like the new wine they’re tasting - her aim is always to help people find new flavours to explore.
